ReachI sat in a dark room.
No lights
No sound
Alone with myself.
(Am I even alone?
To be with myself in this dark room
where light cannot seem to penetrate
and sound does not exist.)
I am afraid.
Of what would happen if I kept sinking into this feeling of [not] being alone.
Kept sinking
    Sinking
       sinking
I searched for a bottom to this ocean
and found it was only my imagination.
And as I was aware I only fantasized about being secure and safe,
the bottom disappeared and I continued to sink further.
    and further
I found something then.
A place where tops and bottoms don’t exist,
so there was no need to look for one.
A place where up and down don’t exist,
so I was no longer sinking.
There was only stillness.
And though there was no sound,
it was deafening.
Everything I believed I was shook.
Beliefs fell away and I was left naked in front of myself.
I sat in a dark room.
No light
No sound
I am
